City Lofts Salford Quays, Manchester
City Lofts Developments brought another of their stunning developments to Salford Quays , a thriving cultural hub of the north-west and situated in a thriving waterfront quarter near to the Lowry Centre. The two linked 19 and 9-storey tower contained 203 high-specification one and two bedroom apartments and like previous developments were designed by the world renowned architects, Conran and Partners. To ensure a high class internal finish the apartment specification featured Conran designed kitchen and bathroom furniture, Villeroy and Boch and Arne Jacobson fittings and Della Flamenco Walnut engineered hardwood flooring, supplied and fitted by Eurofloor.
David McLean Contractors chose Eurofloor to work with them on this project based both on their knowledge of the specification required through the installation of the same products on City Lofts Princes Dock in Liverpool as well as previously working very successfully together on other major schemes in Liverpool.
The flooring specification for this prestigious development was circa 12,000m² of 18mm WBP marine grade ply and 18mm P5 flooring grade chipboard laid on a Durabella acoustic cradle and batten system installed to all apartment and communal areas. To the apartment living area, kitchen and hallways, 4,900m² of Della Flamenco Trio three-strip Walnut engineered timber flooring was floated on 3mm foam insulation on top of the chipboard subfloor. Eurofloor also installed in excess of 13,500m of acoustic seal to the perimeter of all floors to add additional acoustic insulation and prevent sound transference from one apartment to the next.
The flooring installation was completed very successfully utilising up to five teams of two men working over a twelve month period and headed up by a dedicated and experienced Project Manager who worked closely with David McLean’s site management to ensure the project was completed to a high quality finish, on time and on budget.
