City Lofts, Liverpool

Award winning developers City Lofts brought their Conran designed apartments to Liverpool in 2005 which added a touch of flair and extravagance to the city as well as being key scheme in the rejuvenation of Liverpool’s Docklands overlooking the River Mersey and situated next to the world famous Liver Building.

City Lofts Princes Dock comprises a total of 167 apartments incorporating studios and one and two bedroom high quality apartments within two linked 20 and 10 storey towers.

Eurofloor were employed by the main contractor Carillion National Building to carry out the flooring works to the residential apartments and were chosen based on their experience of installing the specified products successfully on time and within budget on previous projects with Carillion.

The flooring specification for this prestigious development was circa 10,500m² of 18mm WBP marine grade ply and 18mm P5 flooring grade chipboard laid on a Durabella acoustic cradle and batten system installed to all apartment and communal areas. To the apartment living area, kitchen and hallways, 4,567m² of Della Flamenco Trio three-strip Walnut engineered timber flooring was floated on 3mm foam insulation on top of the chipboard subfloor. As a finishing touch Eurofloor also installed 3,500m of skirting board which meant that by minimising the numbers of following trades it in turn minimised the risk of damage to the floor upon completion. To further prevent damage Eurofloor also installed circa 4,500 of 3mm flame retardant protection to all areas where they installed the Walnut finish.

The flooring installation was completed very successfully and Eurofloor in turn secured the same specification of flooring, Della Flamenco Trio, on City Lofts next development in Salford Quays, Manchester as well as the installation contract in late 2006
