Alexandra Tower, Liverpool
This magnificent 26 storey residential tower is situated on Liverpool’s prestigious waterfront on the banks of the River Mersey and adjacent to the world famous Liver Buildings. The stunning glass fronted tower is designed by world renowned AFL Architects and provides a total of 201, one and two bedroom high specification apartments with views of both the River Mersey and the City.
Eurofloor were employed by Laing O’Rourke on this prestigious project due to Eurofloor’s unique ability to work closely at specification stage with all parties to come up with products and solutions which not only exceeded their expectations but also enabled them to make significant cost savings without any loss or compromise in quality.
The flooring specified, supplied and fitted by Eurofloor was 7,500m²of V4 14mm three-strip Oak flooring floated over a 5.5mm fibreboard underlay which assisted in taking out some of the unevenness of the floor. Eurofloor also installed a visqueen DPM to further prevent issues with moisture from the concrete subfloor. A number of bespoke products were brought in specifically for this project. Amongst these included a 4mm flame retardant protection used to cover and protect the finish floor. Eurofloor also supplied bespoke manufactured solid oak lacquered angled trims to install to the full height glazing and provided an aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional scotia bead or skirting, solid oak lacquered door plates and bespoke stainless steel collars to go around the support columns within the apartment living areas.
Understanding how crucial and tight the project programme was for such a large scale development, Eurofloor’s installation team worked very closely with Laing O’Rourke’s site management to ensure that their every need was met and that the service was second to none.
